Fastenopfer Nepal is primarily governed by its country strategy. Current Nepal Strategy lasts until 2010. The strategy is approved by the Foundation of Councils following recommendations of an independent Expert Commission to become effective.

The broad framework is appropriated at country level in consultation with partners and other stakeholders of the country into themes that match the ethos of the partner organizations.  Biannual meeting of the partners gives perspective and lays the foundation to developing policy. Thematic policies are under construction and expected to take shape for the foreseen next Country Strategy 2011-2015.
